Kindergarten Character Writers

Kindergarten has had lots of fun learning to write Chinese characters. And WOW! What good character writers they have become. Students are practicing numbers 1-10 and have even branched out to words like orchid flower, big, and little. Want to practice at home? Here are a few beautiful words to write.
Orchid Flower
大 Big
小 Little

Turn on the Keiki Chinese Youtube channel to view 1st grade shadow puppet shows teaching Thank you (谢谢) and you're welcome (不谢). 3rd graders will soon broadcast their own movies that will teach you how to answer the phone in China and ask there whereabouts of friends. Stay tuned for more!

Don't forget to turn on KHON at 5:30 and 6:00 tonight to see the LJA LS Language Department interview with Malika Dudley. Teachers and keiki told me the the interview also aired this morning. So don't forget! Turn it on KHON tonight.

Keiki Chinese Hits & KHON

KHON visited the Keiki Chinese classroom to interview Lao shi, Xiao Long, and Qing Qing about teaching and learning Chinese. Qing Qing and Xiao Long were super stars and did a super job answering questions in front of the camera. They even did a wonderful impromptu puppet show teaching "I'm sorry".

The KHON interview with Keiki Chinese will air on April 20, 2011. LJA will also have a copy of the interview on campus and on our website.

Have you been practicing your writing? Try practicing these beautiful Chinese characters:
兰 Orchid Flower
山 Mountain
茶 Tea

Kindergarten has learned leaps and bounds by practicing the numbers 1-5. Here they are again.

3rd graders! Don't forget to practice your apologies. You never know when you might accidentally step on somebodies toe and need to say 对不起!

Good work Chinese learners! Practice what you know!
